With its huge glazed area which stretches beyond the full width of the roof, the optional electric panoramic tilting/sliding roof is a striking feature in itself. Not just bathing the interior with light, it offers a clear view of the sky above, and when opened lets the sunshine and fresh air in. You choose how much of this you want: the roof can be adjusted or fully opened, and when the sun is shining strong, the tinted glass and high-quality roller blind ensure that the interior remains at a comfortable temperature.

Key information at a glance

The Digital Cockpit instrument cluster displays classic gauges such as speedometer and odometer as standard on a high-resolution 20.32 cm (8”) colour display. On the Digital Cockpit Pro**, the image in the 26.04 cm (10.25”) display can be customised according to individual preferences. For example then, you can choose how to visualise your driver assistance systems or combine navigation map and media display – all with appealing graphics and animations.

Groundbreaking entertainment

Have you heard? The Composition1 radio with 15.5 cm (6.5”) display provides for great non-stop entertainment in the Polo. This is no surprise, as it now also features DAB+ digital radio reception, two USB-C ports, and a mobile phone interface. Ready 2 Discover radio is already available as an option and as a standard feature in the Style equipment line and higher. This not only boasts a 20.3 cm (8”) TFT colour display, but can also be upgraded2 and a navigation function can be added later via the In-Car Shop. For those who want guidance from the start, the 20.3 cm (8”) screen provides options for the Discover Media navigation system including Streaming & Internet3 or the Discover Pro system with 23,5 cm (9,25”) screen including Streaming & Internet3.

Intuitive voice control gives you a means of controlling the radio, phone, and optional navigation systems in your Polo by simply speaking to them. Voice input can help you find the right channel, the correct address book entry, or the phone number you’re searching for. And what’s more, your Polo will understand you even better with the optional online voice control service1 in We Connect Plus2. For example, you can choose your favourite music online or enter destinations into your navigation system using this completely intuitive method.

Stay within your lane and keep others at a distance.

The Polo includes a capacitive steering wheel when you opt for Travel Assist1: thanks to a touch-sensitive surface, it can detect whether you physically have your hands on the wheel. Travel Assist puts the comfort into driving by providing assistance in monotonous and tiring situations2. Travel Assist also helps keep you in lane and maintain your speed while taking into account the distance from vehicles in front, especially on motorways and major roads2.

Keep your distance and stay within speed limits.

Adaptive cruise control (ACC)* can help you keep within your pre-set maximum speed (up to 210 km/h) and maintain your distance to the vehicle in front. It also helps your Polo to automatically stop and start moving in traffic jams (if the DSG automatic gearbox option is installed). Predictive cruise control and cornering assist is added to the ACC in combination with the optional navigation system.*** This helps you avoid exceeding the speed limits by identifying the official limits along the route.** The system also uses route data from the navigation system to adapt the vehicle’s own speed to corners, junctions (exits), and roundabouts.**

Change lanes systematically.

The Side Assist lane change assist system uses an LED lamp in the exterior mirrors to indicate that there are other vehicles in the blind spot or driving up to 50 m behind you.* When you indicate to change lanes, the system calculates whether one of these vehicles could pose a hazard based on position and speed, and then flashes to alert you to this.

Driving into a parking space made easy

The Polo with optional Park Assist* including parking distance warning system not only tells you whether a parking space is large enough when driving past, but can also drive into it for you**. You control the clutch, accelerator, and brake, and observe your surroundings,** and the system does the rest.

Sensors scan suitable parking spaces (up to a maximum of 40 km/h).

Parallel parking spaces must have one vehicle length plus 80 cm manoeuvring distance for parking, and at least 25 cm in front of and behind the vehicle for driving out of a parking space.

Parking bays must have at least 35 cm clearance on both sides.
